The most important characteristic someone has to have if they're going to teach or train someone else is: A desire for the other person to learn. If they don't have a desire for the other person to learn or grow, any other characteristic is a mute point. Our conversation on a necessary qualifications to build a bridge of understanding from one thing to another or one community to another came during my time in Richmond Hill this past week, where I gave a conversation to community leaders on what makes youth vulnerable to extremism.
